What Budget 2013 may have in store for public infrastructure

Aside from doubling the current MRT network.

According to DBS, the government has announced plans to increase public infrastructure capacity to ease the current bottlenecks and to cater to a potential population size of 6.9 million.

This includes doubling the total rail length of the existing MRT network, building 200,000 new homes within the next four years and catering up to 700,000 units by 2030.

Here's more from DBS:

More satellite commercial centres will be built, along with more public amenities such as schools, hospitals, nursing homes, childcare centres and parks.

Indeed, this is probably the most extensive and comprehensive public infrastructure building exercise since independence.

This budget will most likely focus on some of the interim projects within the next five years, that is, the low hanging fruits that will help in achieving the longer-term goal.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
