Japan Foods Holdings records net loss for Q3 2025

This is attributed to lower revenue and higher selling and distribution expenses.

Japan Foods Holdings recorded a net loss attributable to equity holders of the company of $2.9m in Q3 2025 over a net profit of $700,000 in Q3 2024.

Despite a higher number of operating outlets, revenue declined by 6% to $64.9m due to weak sales in November and December 2024. The group’s gross profit also decreased to $54.9m.

The company’s selling and distribution expenses also increased by 8.3% to $53.9m due to higher manpower costs, utilities expenses, and depreciation charges of right-of-use assets.

The company plans to rationalise its brand portfolio by focusing on its more established brands. In line with this, the group has decreased the number of operating outlets to 82 as of 31 December 2024.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
