Restaurant wrap: The major restaurant openings you need to know about

Feeling hungry yet ?

Picky eaters now have a whole lot more of restaurants to choose from. New establishments are springing up one after the other across the city center.

According to Colliers, some of the new establishments that opened in Downtown Core in 2Q2014 include Ujong, which opened in the 90-seater space previously occupied by Empire Café in the Raffles Hotel, and the 272-seat restaurant, called The Clifford Pier that opened at the space previously occupied by One On The Bund at Clifford Pier.

This new restaurant is run by The Fullerton Bay Hotel and will pay homage to Singapore’s hawker food culture focusing on local dishes and contemporary interpretations of regional Asian cuisine.

“Over at Orchard Road, Luke’s Oyster Bar & Chop House opened its second outlet at Robinsons Orchard in The Heeren. And moving out to the City Fringe, Portico opened at Alexandra Road, while Una, a fine dining restaurant, tapas bar and wedding venue, opened at 1 Rochester Park. In the suburban areas, Ottoman Kebab & Grill opened at Bedok Mall during the quarter,” the report further noted.
