Tourism job interest jumps 130%: Indeed

Job opportunities in the sector also rose by 48.7%.

Singapore’s hospitality and tourism job market is bouncing back to pre-pandemic levels, Indeed reported.

Indeed’s job portal saw a 130.3% growth in clicks per million from 2021 to 2025 for hospitality and tourism jobs.

According to Indeed, improved perceptions around the sector’s job security, pay, and working conditions may have contributed to the rising interest in hospitality and tourism jobs.

In addition, skilled talent, including alumni returning to the workforce and recent graduates, has also potentially contributed to this demand.

Job opportunities in these sectors have also risen sharply, with job postings on Indeed’s portal growing 48.7% from 2021 to 2025.

From April 2024 to April 2025 alone, job postings expanded by 14.6%, likely driven by surging travel demand to Singapore and renewed investments into the local tourism workforce and capability development.

“Employers are encouraged to invest in upskilling programmes to build a sustainable workforce pipeline to meet evolving service expectations and demands. Better employee retention strategies, such as competitive benefits and clear career development pathways, could help keep talent motivated and committed to building the industry,” Shannon Peter Pang, Indeed spokesperson said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
