Hello, hard times: Manufacturing sector posts bleak hiring prospects in 2Q14

Employment outlook slides by 6%.

Those looking to be employed in the manufacturing sector are in for a difficult search.

Recent data released by the Manpower Employment Outlook Survey revealed that the manufacturing sector’s reported a Net Employment of 7% for the April-June time frame.

This shows a 6% quarter on quarter decline, as well as a 4% year on year decrease.

According to the survey, “The Outlook is the weakest reported since 4Q 2009.Based on unadjusted survey data, employers expect a conservative hiring pace in the next three months.”
