
S'pore employers to prioritise tech hiring, revenue growth in 2025: report
Employers plan to increase headcounts and allocate larger budgets for tech roles.
For 2025, 49% of Singapore employers plan to increase their headcount whilst 40% aim to maintain their current workforce, Randstad Singapore reported.
According to Randstad, revenue generation is a key priority for businesses, with 45% of employers expecting the highest hiring activity in sales and business development.
Employers also plan to focus on technology with 23% prioritising tech talent acquisition, followed by planning to invest in digital transformation and AI professionals (13%).
Meanwhile, employers also cite significant recruitment challenges such as a shortage of candidates with required skills (66%) and intense market competition for talent (38%).
In response, 38% of organisations plan to increase their budgets for technical roles, whilst 30% will focus on internal promotions. When it comes to salary increments, 43% of companies project average increases of 3% to 5%.
“As employers grapple with talent scarcity, we're witnessing greater demand for professionals skilled in AI, data analytics, and digital infrastructure, alongside a strong focus on revenue generation and business development capabilities,” David Blasco, country director at Randstad Singapore said.
