M1 launches MEC platform

The Pinnacle platform will help businesses adopt new digital technologies.

Keppel Corporation subsidiary M1 Limited launched Pinnacle, a next-gen multi-access edge computing (MEC) platform, that will help businesses in integrating new digital technologies such as augmented reality and virtual reality, live video analytics, and industrial internet of things.

In a statement, M1 said Pinnacle can deliver cost-effective and efficient real-time data processing and service management. It can also deploy and manage mission-critical applications, reducing latency, bandwidth consumption and network congestion.

The platform, supported by M1’s 5G standalone network and ST Engineering’s edge platform for 5G, will enable M1 to manage end-to-end servicing of Pinnacle which includes reviewing customers’ existing infrastructure.

M1 can also incorporate Pinnacle alongside other technologies and applications.

The Republic Polythecnic’s School of Engineering is one of the early adopters of Pinnacle.
