Singapore and Indonesia drive SEA private equity deals in 2023

Last year, however, deal volume fell by 24%.

Singapore and Indonesia contributed to the bulk of private equity deals in the Southeast Asia region in 2023.

Data from Bain & Company showed the region amassed US$9b in deal value last year, down 39% compared to the 2018-2022 average.

Deal volume in the region also dropped 24%.

In Q12024, deal activity dropped off whilst deal value was at US$1.4b, back at the same level as Q12023.

Meanwhile, exit value declined 60% YoY, Singapore and Indonesia also saw the most exits in the region
