ISCA sets aside $3m as 98% foresee industry disruption

This will fund AI capability, career transition and sustainability support.

Institute of Singapore Chartered Accountants (ISCA) has set aside $3m to support artificial intelligence (AI) capability, career transition and sustainability initiatives, following survey findings showing that 98% of respondents expect disruption from global political and trade developments, according to a press release.

The institute will allocate $1m to roll out an AI Fluency Programme and $2m towards a Career Support Programme in 2025.

Survey findings conducted with the Association of Small & Medium Enterprises showed that 98% of respondents anticipate disruption, whilst 57% identified job displacement as their top AI-related concern.

The AI Fluency Programme, delivered in partnership with the Infocomm Media Development Authority under the expanded TechSkills Accelerator, will be offered free to Singaporean and permanent resident professional accountants.

ISCA said the initiative targets Singapore’s 120,000-strong accountancy sector and focuses on applying AI in audit and reporting workflows, understanding its limitations, and ensuring responsible use.

ISCA has committed $2m in 2025 to provide career coaching, job matching and skills support under its Career Support Programme, alongside mid-career measures and improvements to the SkillsFuture Level-Up Programme announced in Budget 2026.

On sustainability, ISCA said it will issue implementation guidance and reference materials to support firms adapting to revised climate reporting timelines, alongside extended green financing and energy efficiency schemes.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
