Singapore retains world's most powerful passport

Passport provides access to 192 destinations.

Singapore has been named the world's most powerful passport in the July 2026 Henley Passport Index, with its citizens enjoying visa-free or visa-on-arrival access to 192 destinations.

The city-state remained ahead of Japan, South Korea, and the United Arab Emirates, which shared second place with access to 188 destinations. Sweden ranked third with access to 187 destinations.

Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway and Spain shared fourth place, with passport holders able to access 186 destinations.

At the other end of the index, Afghanistan remained the world's weakest passport, with access to 22 destinations.

The Henley Passport Index ranks 199 passports based on the number of destinations their holders can access without obtaining a visa in advance.
