AECOM-led JV appointed for Singapore waste facility Phase 2
The Integrated Waste Management Facility will process up to 2,900 tonnes of waste per day.
A joint venture between AECOM, Binnies, and Ramboll has been appointed by Singapore’s National Environment Agency (NEA) to provide consultancy services for Phase 2 of the Integrated Waste Management Facility.
The facility is part of NEA’s long-term plan to meet Singapore’s future solid waste management needs. It will be located within Tuas Nexus, Singapore’s first integrated water reclamation and solid waste treatment facility.
Phase 2 is designed to process up to 2,900 tonnes of waste per day, converting waste into energy whilst supporting resource recovery. The project will also explore future carbon capture integration.
The co-location of IWMF with the Tuas Water Reclamation Plant is expected to support energy and resource recovery, reduce environmental impact, and make efficient use of space in land-scarce Singapore.
The joint venture will provide services across planning, design, procurement support, construction supervision, testing, and commissioning.
