Keppel inks multi-year PPA with GlobalFoundries

The PPA is seen to commence on 1 May 2024.

Keppel’s Infrastructure Division signed a multi-year power purchase agreement with (GF) to provide 150 megawatts (MW) to 180 MW to GF’s Singapore site from the upcoming Keppel Sakra Cogen Plant.

In a statement, the companies said GF is expected to be a long-term off-taker of the power plant that is expected to be completed by 2026.

The company is expected to secure around 25% of the power plant’s generation capacity for over 15 years.

The power plant, a hydrogen-ready combined cycle facility, will be one of the “most advanced and energy-efficient power plants in Singapore.

This will help GF cut its emissions in the Singapore site by 10% or up to 70,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually.
