October BTO exercise to receive increased interest from singles

Experts cite four Prime flats that singles will likely apply for.

The October BTO exercise is likely to attract keen interest from singles, especially those with limited financial means, said OrangeTee.

The real estate expert said the October BTO exercise allows singles to "buy flats at a much lower price compared to resale flats or private housing."

"The opportunity for singles to purchase a unit in city fringe areas and prime locations, particularly downtown, is a positive move as it may reduce commuting time for individuals working in the CBD," OrangeTee said.

"Successful applicants will no longer need to rent or incur the high cost of purchasing a private property to live closer to town," OrangeTee added.

Amongst the Prime flats, OrangeTee expects Towner Breeze (Kallang/Whampoa) to be popular among singles, particularly those working in the downtown area.

The Bayshore project in Bedok is also expected to appeal to singles seeking the allure of residing in the East by the sea.

Singles working in the East, such as those in the Changi Business District, are likely to consider 2-room Flexi flats in Kembangan Wave.

Meanwhile, Central Trio @ AMK, with its easy access to the Orchard shopping belt via the MRT line, is also expected to attract singles, according to OrangeTee.

PropNex anticipates an increase in single applicants, particularly in Ang Mo Kio, Bedok, Pasir Ris, and Kallang/Whampoa — areas previously classified as mature estates, where singles were not eligible to apply.

PropNex added that some singles may also wish to buy flats in these more established towns to be closer to their parents or family members residing in those areas.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
