Chart of the Day: New launches boost home sales in October

Private homes saw a 128% increase.

October 2016 sales volume up 87% YoY led by new launches as transaction volumes firming up to be stronger, DBS Group Research said.

This increase was led by private homes (+128%), of which more than half of the sales were from the new launches of Forest Woods (364 units) and The Alps Residences (334 units). Meanwhile, EC sales increased 5% YoY.

Apart from the new launches, the sales volume for existing projects remains moderate, with 24 to 57 units sold among each of the top 10 sales by project.

Among the EC sales, Sol Acres and The Terrace continue to be among the top 5 selling projects while The Trilinq was the other private project in the list, implying some clearance of the residential supply.

As of October 2016, year-to-date primary sales volume is tracking ahead of 2015, 20% led by EC sales (56%) and private sales (8%).

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
