HDB rents rise 0.3% MoM and 7.6% YoY in April

All room types reported a rent increase except 5 Room.

HDB rents rose by 0.3% MoM and 7.6% YoY in April, according to data from 99.co and SRX.

Rents climbed in non-mature estates (+0.7% MoM) but fell in mature estates (-0.3% MoM)

On a year-on-year comparison, rents increased for both non-mature estates (+7.8%) and mature estates (7.3%)

All room types recorded MoM rent increases in April, except 5 Room, which recorded a 0.4% decline.

Meanwhile,3 Room, 4 Room and Executive rents increase by 0.6%, 0.5% and 0.1%, respectively.

Rental volumes also rose in April, by 9.2% MoM to 2,692 HDB flats. Year-on-year, however, volumes fell by 9.5%.

The latest record was 9.7% lower than the five-year average volume for April.

Of the total volume, 33.3% was from 3 Room, 36.9% from 4 Room, 24.4%  from 5 Room and  5.4%  from Executive.
