Here are the new to Singapore brands you need to check out

Under Armour, PUDU, and Theobroma Chocolate Lounge all opened at orchardgateway.

A wave of new shopping establishments have opened on Orchard Road. The first half of 2014 saw the completion of a new development right in the heart of the shopping capital, and some of them have never been seen in the country before.

orchardgateway, which was completed just earlier this year, boasted a take-up rate of almost 100% by the end of June 2014. According to Colliers, some new-to-Singapore brands have made their homes in the new shopping center.

According to Colliers, “Some of the new-to-Singapore brands at this wing include American sports clothing and accessories retailer Under Amour, travel-inspired fashion boutique PUDU, Australian chocolate gourmet outlet Theobroma Chocolate Lounge, creative fashion boutique-cum-café a.f.d.c, and Twelve Cupcakes’ new concept café Dulce & Sucre.”

Here’s more from Colliers:

Rental growth in Orchard Road was also partly suppressed by the infusion of new supply with the completion of the main wing of orchardgateway.

The development is made up of two buildings located diagonally opposite each other on either side of Orchard Road and are connected by an overhead glass link bridge.

The main wing is situated on the site of the former Specialists’ Centre and Phoenix Hotel and has a net lettable area (NLA) of 136,000 sq ft.

Comprising six retail floors, the main wing houses a wide range of international high-street fashion, mixed-labels as well as indie fashion boutiques.

This newly completed mall is connected to the adjacent malls of 313@somerset and Orchard Central at the street level along Orchard Road, as well as the Somerset Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) Station at its two basement floors.

The smaller wing of the mall, orchardgateway@emerald will open later in the year on the other side of Orchard Road, with a retail NLA of 30,400 sq ft.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
