Skipping the Festive Frenzy: 3 in 10 Singaporeans forego seasonal shopping

Of those who shop for the holidays, 28% do so 3-4 weeks early.

More than a quarter (27%) of consumers in Singapore do not engage in holiday shopping around specific celebrations, data from YouGov showed.

Of those who shop for the festive season, 17% do so one to two weeks in advance, whilst 7% do so on the week of the event.

About a seventh begin their festive shopping more than a month in advance: 10% do so two to three months before, 3% do so four to six months early, whilst 2% do so more than half a year prior.

About half of the consumers (42%) who go for holiday shopping use search engines to identify products to buy for the festive celebrations.
Some tap their family, friends, and colleagues (38%) for holiday shopping ideas.

Consumers also check online reviews and recommendations, social media platforms (both 37%), and retailer websites or apps (35%).

About one in eight (13%) turn to TV ads and printed magazines and newspapers (12%).
