Grand Banks unveils Pasir Gudang composite manufacturing facility
The facility expands the company’s manufacturing yard by 25%.
Grand Banks launched its composite manufacturing facility in Pasir Gudang after nearly 18 months of expansion and modernisation.
The facility spans 143,300 sq ft, expanding the company’s manufacturing yard by 25% to approximately 700,000 sq ft.
The yard is in one of the nine flagship zones in the Johor-Singapore Special Economic Zone (SEZ).
The facility is equipped with advanced technologies such as onsite 8-axis rotor robotics, a testing pool, and engineering labs. Grand Banks said this will allow them to build bigger yachts with greater precision.
“The expansion is a critical part of our strategy to improve quality, internal efficiencies and generate economies of scale. The enhancements in technology and processes will further strengthen our business foundation to better serve customers and add long-term value to our shareholders,” Basil Chan, chairman of Grand Banks said.
