Yangzijiang Maritime names Sun Jianping CFO after controller resigns

Former chief investment officer takes finance role from 20 March.

Yangzijiang Maritime Development has re-designated chief investment officer Sun Jianping as chief financial officer, effective 20 March, following the resignation of its financial controller.

The company said Sun, 40, will be responsible for the group’s finance, accounting, tax, and risk management functions.

The board said it approved the move after considering the nominating committee’s recommendation and was satisfied that Sun has the experience and capabilities to assume the role.

Sun joined Yangzijiang Maritime as CIO in October 2025. Before that, he was the manager of financial leasing at Jiangsu Yangchuan Investment Development from January 2023 to October 2025, and the manager of investment and financial management at Jiangsu New Yangzi Shipbuilding from October 2010 to December 2022.

Yangzijiang Maritime said investment-related matters will continue to be managed by its executive chairman and chief executive, the CFO, and the head of the maritime fund.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
