Singtel tops Opensignal Singapore rankings

Operator widens lead in quality and 5G categories

Singtel led Opensignal’s latest Singapore Mobile Network Experience Report, securing the top in 10 categories and taking the Best Network in Singapore title, as it moved from shared wins in several categories to sole leadership across key performance metrics.

The operator emerged as the sole winner of Upload Speed Experience, 5G Games Experience, 5G Availability and Consistent Quality, while strengthening its lead in two quality measures. Singtel led StarHub by 2.6 percentage points in Consistent Quality and extended a 15-point lead over second-placed SIMBA in Reliability, according to Opensignal.

Leadership remained split across speed categories. StarHub recorded the fastest Download Speed Experience at 155.9 Mbps, which Opensignal said was 5% faster than second-placed Singtel. M1 retained the fastest 5G Download Speed, outperforming Singtel and StarHub, which were statistically tied for second place.

The report introduced a revised 5G Availability metric, redefining it as the share of time users with a 5G device and subscription had a 5G connection, whether or not it was actively used. Opensignal now reports active use under Time on 5G, while the former Availability metric has been renamed Time on Network.

The assessment covered Singtel, StarHub, M1 and SIMBA over a 90-day period from 1 August to 29 October 2025, amid ongoing market consolidation including SIMBA’s proposed acquisition of M1 and StarHub’s purchase of the remaining shares in MyRepublic.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
