LTA grants Geolah, Trans-Cab three-year ride-hailing licences

The two operators met the authority’s standards on safety and service.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) granted Geo Lah Pte Ltd (Geolah) and Trans-cab Services Pte Ltd (Trans-Cab) three-year ride-hail service operator licences (RSOL).

Prior to this, Geolah and Trans-Cab operated on one-year provisional licences that allowed them to provide point-to-point (P2P) services from 1 January 2025 whilst they meet LTA’s standards for safety and service before they are considered for a full three-year RSOL, the LTA said.

Over the past year, the two operators have demonstrated that they are able to meet LTA’s regulatory standards for full licences, it added.

The RSOL is valid until 31 December 2027.

Seven ride-hailing operators now hold RSOLs with Geolah and Trans-Cab.

These operators are CDG Zig Pte Ltd, GrabCar Pte Ltd, Ryde Technologies Pte Ltd, Tada Mobility (Singapore) Pte Ltd, and Velox Digital Singapore Pte Ltd (Gojek).

Under LTA’s P2P regulatory framework, operators with 800 or more bookable vehicles on their platforms will be licenced based on the type of services, such as street-hail, ride-hail or car-pool services, they provide, the LTA said.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
