Johnson Controls opens OpenBlue Center in Singapore
New hub aligns with Singapore Green Plan 2030 for sustainability.
Johnson Controls is hosting the OpenBlue Innovation Center at their new office location in Singapore, marking a significant step towards enhancing sustainable infrastructure and energy management systems in alignment with the Singapore Green Plan 2030.
Peter Ferguson, General Manager for Southeast Asia at Johnson Controls, shared insights into how the centre will bolster sustainability efforts and promote collaborative development within the region.
The OpenBlue Innovation Center is designed to serve as a cornerstone for sustainable development, integrating advanced energy management systems and fostering partnerships across the sustainability ecosystem in Singapore and Southeast Asia.
"Sustainable infrastructure is at the core of all our designs and technologies at the Innovation Center," Ferguson stated. He emphasised the centre's role in advancing the Singapore Green Plan by encouraging the adoption of sustainable practices and technologies.
Situated in the one-north district, known for its innovation and research-driven environment, the OpenBlue Innovation Center aims to leverage the area's interconnected ecosystem.
Ferguson highlighted the strategic choice of location, "One-north is an exciting place, known for its innovation and research capabilities. Our Innovation Center aims to transform this area into a living lab, showcasing connected technologies that optimize building operations and the built environment."
The centre intends to demonstrate how integrated systems can enhance the efficiency and sustainability of urban infrastructure, setting a standard for Southeast Asia.
"Our long-term goals in Southeast Asia revolve around sustainable infrastructure, expanding market presence, and maintaining our thought leadership in technology," said Ferguson.
He stressed the importance of collaboration and partnership in achieving these goals, highlighting the company's commitment to fostering a sustainable future with regional ecosystem partners.
