Mermaid Maritime Public appoints Prasert Bunsumpun as Chairman

He was President and CEO PTT Public Company Limited.

The Board of announced the appointment of Prasert Bunsumpun as Chairman. The Nomination Committee, having considered Mr. Bunsumpun’s outstanding qualifications, networks, experience and expertise in the oil and gas industry, made a recommendation to the Board of Directors that his involvement in Mermaid will help the group to strengthen and grow its business. The Board, having considered the matter, endorsed the recommendation of the Nomination Committee and appointed Mr. Bunsumpun as a Non-Executive Director. Mr. Bunsumpun will also serve as Chairman of the Board, according to a Mermaid Maritime Public report.

In the past, Mr. Bunsumpun, 60, was President and CEO PTT Public Company Limited from 2003 to 2011. Before this he was Senior Executive Vice President, Gas Business Group of PTT Public Company Limited from 2001 - 2003 and President, PTT Gas Petroleum Authority of Thailand from 2000 to 2001.
