Singapore's mid-sized firms need to practice sustainable business: HSBC

But firms are slow in adopting.

Singapore’s mid-market enterprises (MMEs) need to practice sustainable business to catch-up to global peers and customer expectations, according to a report from HSBC.

47% of MME respondents said that customers demand environmentally sustainable, and ethical products and services, with 54% of them recognising that such practices will boost their profit.

However, only 25% of them are prioritising investment for an improved sustainable business.

When asked about sustainable plans, 61% of MMEs said that employment diversity is their top priority for the next three years.
