Passenger traffic at Singapore Changi Airport reached a record high in 2025, with 69.98 million passenger movements, up 3.4% compared to 2024.

China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Australia and India were Changi’s top five passenger markets last year. China remained the largest market and posted the strongest growth, with passenger movements rising 12.2% from 2024.

Vietnam and Japan followed, growing 9.8% and 7.0% year on year, respectively. The busiest routes were Kuala Lumpur, Bangkok, Jakarta, Denpasar (Bali), and Hong Kong.

December was the busiest month of the year, with 6.3 million passenger movements. The peak travel day was 20 December 2025, when more than 223,000 passengers passed through the airport.

Aircraft movements rose 2.2% year-on-year to 374,000 movements. Airfreight throughput totalled 2.08 million tonnes, exceeding the previous year by 4.5%.

The airport plans to expand its network in Asia amidst rising travel demand in the region, said Changi Airport Group CEO Yam Kum Weng.

He added that the group will continue efforts to improve traveller experience by increasing efficiency and streamlining operations.

As of January this year, about 100 airlines operate more than 7,300 weekly scheduled flights at Changi Airport, connecting Singapore to over 170 cities in 50 countries and territories.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
