Scoot doubles down on Airbus A320neos with 11-jet order for 2028

The added fleet will feature between 186 and 236 seats in a single-class configuration.

Singapore Airlines’ (SIA) low-cost subsidiary Scoot has ordered 11 additional Airbus A320neo family aircraft, with deliveries scheduled to begin from 2028.

In a statement, the carrier said it had firmed up orders for five aircraft and exercised options to purchase six more under its 2014 agreement with Airbus.

Powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100G-JM engines, the latest order will raise Scoot’s A320neo family orderbook to 20 aircraft.

The new aircraft will feature 186 seats on the A320neo and 236 seats on the A321neo, all in a single-class configuration.

Scoot said the move would increase route deployment flexibility across locations within a five- to six-hour radius and support new services feeding into the wider SIA Group network.

By June, the airline expects to serve 85 destinations, accounting for around half of the routes connected through Changi Airport. Of these, 37 are operated exclusively by the carrier.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
