Singapore Airlines to launch new cabin offerings

To provide additional space and comfort for its passengers, Singapore Airlines is set to launch new cabin products on some of its Boeing 777-200 aircraft starting late February.

A total of 11 B777-200s will be equipped with the Airline's most recent cabin offerings, and the refitted aircraft will be configured with 38 Business Class and 228 Economy Class seats.

Apart from providing larger space and enhanced amenities, the new offerings are also aimed at introducing greater product consistency across its fleet.

The Business Class cabin will feature incline lie-flat seats in a modern design of genuine leather. The new seat, also found on Singapore Airlines' Airbus A330-300 aircraft, boasts of a personal partition and advanced control panel, giving customers the ability to personalise seating preferences or choose from a number of preset options.

Providing maximum ergonomic support for a more comfortable rest is a six-way adjustable headrest and lumbar support.

Similarly, the Economy Class cabin will be refurbished with a new contemporary look, with seat covers designed by Givenchy. These will feature soothing colours as well as richer and softer fabrics, similar to those found on Singapore Airlines' new Airbus A380 and B777-300ER aircraft.

For better Audio-Video On Demand features in both cabin classes, enhancements will also be made on Singapore Airlines' award-winning KrisWorld in-flight entertainment system, such as a more intuitive and user-friendly graphical interface.

Business Class seats will likewise feature larger 15.4-inch screens, while screens in Economy Class will be increased to 9 inches later this year.

Starting February 23, the first refitted B777-200 aircraft will operate on the Singapore-Shanghai route. Selected flights to Beijing, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Hong Kong and Chennai will also be operated with these aircraft as more B777-200s are refitted.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
