Tiger Airways celebrates feat with a promo

Airline offers 120,000 seats at zero cents after it reached its twelve millionth passenger.

To celebrate the carriage of twelve million passengers on 3 February 2010, Tiger Airways has put 120,000 seats on offer at 0 cents excluding taxes. This significant milestone comes less than two months since the eleven millionth mark was achieved on 10 December 2009.

Rosalynn Tay, Managing Director of Tiger Airways Singapore said, "Tiger Airways has been growing faster and faster. We have taken less than two months to hit this new millionth mark, while it took two and a half months to reach the 11th million from 10 millions. This is hardly surprising given our low, low fares, growing fleet and destinations, the latest one being Hong Kong."

The 0 cent fares (one way, excluding taxes and charges) are for selected flights between Singapore and five Southeast Asian destinations – Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur, Kuching, Langkawi and Penang. Travel periods vary for each route.

These crazy deals are available for booking before sunrise on 4 February and until 10 February, while stocks last.

Tiger Airways' 12 millionth passenger was presented with S$500 worth of Tiger Airways travel vouchers and a commemorative flight certificate. The passenger was flying from Hong Kong on TR925 and arrived at Singapore at 4:00 pm.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
