LTA awards $265.4m contract for three Jurong Region Line stations

This includes the construction of Tengah Plantation, Tengah Park and Bukit Batok West.

A joint venture between construction firms John Holland and McConnell Dowell South East Asia was awarded a $265.4m contract for the design and construction of three Jurong Region Line (JRL) stations, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) announced.

The contract covers the construction of Tengah Plantation, Tengah Park and Bukit Batok West JRL stations as well as viaducts spanning 2.3km.

Construction works for the three JRL stations under this contract are expected to start later this year with completion slated for 2026.

Tengah Plantation Station will serve future residential developments in Tengah New Town, whilst the Tengah Park Station will be around residential developments along Bukit Batok Road. Bukit Batok West Station will be located near residential and commercial developments within the Bukit Batok West and Yuhua areas.

John Holland and McConnell Dowell both specialise in the design and construction of large-scale rail, tunnel, road and bridge projects. John Holland constructed Jalan Besar station on the Downtown Line, whilst McConnell Dowell previously constructed Beauty World and King Albert Park stations on the Downtown Line.
