Mall rents in Orchard Road edged up 0.6% to $35.3 psf monthly

This increase boosted island-wide rents.

The rents of malls in Orchard Road rose 0.6% both QoQ and YoY and lifted rents in island-wide malls by 0.3% QoQ in Q3, Knight Frank revealed.

However, on a YoY basis, island-wide mall rents dropped 1.3%, it said in its research bulletin.

Whilst average prime retail space rents in Marina Centre, City Hall and Bugis precinct remained unchanged QoQ, a 5.3% YoY decline was reported as landlords continue to struggle with weakening occupancy.

The performance of prime retail space rents in the City Fringe precinct saw modest improvement at 0.3% QoQ, and remained the same YoY.

The Suburban precinct was the only underperformer this quarter, with average prime retail space rents reporting a 0.2% QoQ decline, and a 2.5% YoY drop.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
