MAS sets standards for responsible financial advertising online
It will be effective on 25 March 2026.
The Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) has issued new rules to guide financial institutions, advertisers, and content creators in sharing financial content responsibly online.
Effective 25 March 2026, the framework sets safeguards for digital media, requiring transparent disclosures and stronger policies to monitor online financial activities.
In collaboration with the Advertising Standards Authority of Singapore (ASAS), MAS also introduced the “7 must-knows when sharing financial information online.”
The guide explains when a licence may be required, what checks to conduct before promoting products, and how to disclose compensation.
Separately, MAS will issue advisory letters to five content creators who may have provided financial advice without approval.
These individuals have been instructed to revise their content in line with regulatory standards.
