Caffé B unveils new Italian cuisine with Japanese touch

According to a release, Caffé B presents a new restaurant and bar menu of contemporary Italian cuisine infused with signature Japanese elements.

Presenting classic favourites alongside delectable new creations, the menu features artfully-plated Italian dishes specially prepared from signature old world and Japanese ingredients, brought together using fundamental Italian techniques. In addition to its exclusive offering of Italian wines from the il Pollenza estate, the restaurant and bar have introduced a series of novel Japanese-inspired cocktails as well as fine wines specially imported from Japan.

Inspired by the delicate portions and presentation of Japanese Kaiseki style cuisine, a mainstay from the former i sentieri menu, the Antipasti Degustation Style features an assortment of six small appetisers that showcase a full palate of flavours and textures, with decadent highlights such as San Daniele Ham with Sweet Melon Caviar and Aburi Tuna and Black Caviar.

New additions to the à la carte menu, the Grilled Artichoke with Balsamic Pearls intrigues with its lightly smoky and tart flavour, while the In-house smoked Tofu with Teriyaki Powder & Italian Coriander Salad topped with Parmesan Cheese combines the crispy exterior and pillowy sweetness of Japanese Agadeshi tofu with the robust saltiness of teriyaki and parmesan to exquisite effect.

Diners with a penchant for luscious seafood can look forward to the fragrant Risotto “Singapore” for a dish reinterpreted with a local twist, which marries the well-loved spicy sweetness of Singapore’s famous Chilli Crab with creamy Italian carnaroli rice, crowned with a succulent pan-seared scallop. A milder, yet equally enticing alternative is the Black Squid Ink Pasta. The silken tonnarelli carries the smokiness of grilled Eggplant and a hint of briny Sea Urchin, a welcome complement to the robust tomato and cream sauce base.

If fish is the preference of the day, ease into the Merluzzo, fresh Baked Chilean Cod in a lightly sweet Miso reduction, served with crunchy Broccolini and crispy Garlic Flakes for a divinely textural finish. For meatier fare, diners may wish to indulge in the Lamb Loin, another new addition to the menu. Tender cuts of Murray Bridge Lamb are paired delectably with a crunchy, assorted Bean Salad and chewy Sweet Bread, drizzled with a salty-sweet Teriyaki Mint Butter Sauce.

Always an indulgent affair, for dessert enjoy the delightful Espresso Matcha Degustation, deconstructed green tea cheesecake featuring a sweet, grainy base, accompanied by rich matcha mousse, smooth azuki bean jelly and dollops of light azuki bean sauce. A deliciously sweet alternative is the Zipole con Vodka Azuki, a chewy Traditional Italian Donut stuffed with Vodka-infused Red Bean Paste alongside creamy Vanilla Ice Cream.

Tantalise your tastebuds and savour sumptuous cuisine Italian cuisine with a Japanese touch at Caffé B – the perfect place to gather both friends and family for leisurely dining, wining and unhurried conversation in a friendly and relaxed setting.
