F&B sales growth picks up to 8.6% in August

In July, F&B sales grew 6.6% YoY.

Food and beverage (F&B) sales grew faster in August, increasing by 8.6% YoY from a 6.6% YoY uptick in July. Sales value clocked in at $1.0b.

Of the total sales value, 23.1% was from online sales.

According to the Department of Statistics Singapore (Singstat), all F&B services industries recorded year-on-year increases in sales in August.

Amongst industries, Food Caterers recorded the largest increase, soaring 29.8% YoY, followed by Fast Food Outlets, which saw a 7.8% jump in sales.

Sales of Cafes, Food Courts & Other Eating Places, and Restaurants also rose in August, by 7.7% YoY and 5.3% YoY, respectively.
