What are the best jobs in Singapore?

Indeed’s Global Best Jobs ranks jobs based on demand, salary, and hybrid work arrangements.

Despite recent tech layoffs, jobs in the industry remain to be one of the bests in Singapore.

According to Indeed, tech jobs offer the most flexibility and above-average wages. It is also amongst the most in-demand jobs in the Lion City.

Nine of the 20 best jobs listed by Indeed were tech jobs, including back-end developers (5th), technical program managers (7th), and data engineers (12th).

Indeed’s best jobs list ranks positions based on the number of postings offering remote or hybrid working arrangements, salary, employer demand and consistent growth in job postings from 2019 to 2022.

In Singapore, customer success manager was identified as the best job, followed by infrastructure engineers, growth marketers, senior product managers, and back-end developers.

Other jobs on the list include site reliability engineers, technical program managers, product designers, implementation specialists, business development specialists, integration engineers, data engineers, engineering managers and sales leads.

In 2022, back-end developers and customer success managers have the most job postings per one million total jobs, with 2,153 and 1,749, respectively. Senior product managers have the highest average base monthly salary at $10,326, followed by site reliability engineers at $9,658.

“While salary has often been deemed as the key marker for what makes a job good, it is no longer the only factor job seekers are considering. In 2023, flexible working arrangements are playing a much bigger role in the decision process, alongside growth and opportunity. As such, employers should be looking for ways to improve workplace flexibility where possible,” said Saumitra Chand, career expert at Indeed.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
