Singapore eyes being regional hub for museum scholarship and research

NHB Academy was launched in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution and Tourism Management Institute of Singapore.

A National Heritage Board release said the National Heritage Board Academy signed a Memorandum of Agreement and Memorandum of Understanding with the Smithsonian Institution and Tourism Management Institute of Singapore respectively to contribute to the capability development of museum and heritage professionals for the purpose of raising the standards of Singapore’s museum and heritage industry.

The NHB Academy and SI will co-develop the training curriculum and organise training workshops for museum professionals over a period of two years. Meanwhile the NHB Academy will also collaborate with TMIS to strengthen the training curriculum and deliver heritage-based workshops for tourist guides.
