Financial advisor emerges as best job for 2026: Indeed

Adaptable, specialised roles show strongest hiring resilience.

Financial advisor leads Indeed’s 2026 Best Jobs in Singapore—a ranking based on demand, stability, and worker mobility.

Data indicates that resilience stems from role adaptability or demand for specialised skills, with Piano Teacher, Sales Manager, Project Manager, and IT Analyst following the top position on the list.

Callam Pickering, Indeed Senior APAC Economist, said the Piano Teacher role captures the essence of the index, as it performs strongly across job quality dimensions, including compensation, job postings, and flexible working arrangements.

Other top roles include Business Development Manager, Human Resources Manager, and Occupational Therapist, the report said.

Finance Manager and Network Engineer rank lower due to their narrower scope, which creates vulnerability as hiring becomes more selective.

The report also recommends that jobseekers look for roles with transferable skills or steady demand. Workers can make career decisions by considering changes in roles and opportunities for adjacent responsibilities.

Findings further suggest that employers should avoid rigid job definitions. Roles with room for skills development, internal mobility, and redeployment help organisations attract talent as hiring conditions evolve.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
