IMDA expands AI, cybersecurity support for Singapore enterprises
New partnerships with Grab and RSM will help 12,000 more SMEs build digital capabilities.
Singapore has rolled out new initiatives to help enterprises adopt artificial intelligence securely and at scale, whilst strengthening cyber resilience and digital infrastructure.
Announced by Senior Minister of State for Digital Development and Information Tan Kiat How at ATxEnterprise 2026, the initiatives include new partnerships under the Digital Enterprise Blueprint and continued investments in quantum-safe infrastructure.
The Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) is expanding the blueprint through partnerships with Grab and RSM Stone Forest IT to help small and medium enterprises build AI and cybersecurity capabilities.
Grab will launch the Grab AI Programme for SMEs with IMDA, targeting 10,000 food and beverage, e-commerce, and retail SMEs.
The programme will offer free online training videos, masterclasses, webinars, and a two-day AI course co-developed with the Singapore University of Technology and Design.
RSM will roll out the RSM Cyber2SME™ Programme, which will provide complimentary phishing simulation exercises to 2,000 SMEs.
Up to 1,000 SMEs will also receive cybersecurity awareness webinars and tabletop exercises covering cyber risks, AI and data threats, and incident response.
IMDA, SkillsFuture Singapore, and Workforce Singapore have also developed an AI for Enterprise Impact Playbook to guide digitally progressive enterprises in adopting AI.
The playbook is based on insights from over 1,000 enterprise engagements and consolidates government programmes and resources into one framework.
Separately, Sonar will globally launch its AI remediation agent in Singapore, co-developed with engineers from IMDA and Singapore. The SonarQube Remediation Agent is designed to help engineering teams automatically fix code issues and scan for fixes before deployment.
IMDA also signed a Memorandum of Intent with Singtel, Ericsson, and NCS Singapore to pilot and validate quantum-safe technologies for migrating Singtel’s infrastructure and systems.
The collaboration is aimed at strengthening Singapore’s defences against quantum threats, with insights to be shared with the broader telco ecosystem.
