Singapore, UN extend cybersecurity programme for three years
The UN-Singapore Cyber Programme aims to address AI and online scams.
The UN-Singapore Cyber Programme (UNSCP), launched in 2018 for the cyber capacity of UN member states, has been extended for three years, starting 2026 to 2028.
The UNSCP aims to enable UN-member states to understand and address evolving cyber threats through international cooperation and intergovernmental discussions, the Cybersecurity Agency of Singapore (CSA) said.
“The renewed partnership will provide a stronger focus on the nexus between cybersecurity and emerging threats, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), quantum, and online Scams,” the CSA said.
In the UNSCP extension, CSA and the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs will discuss the threats with UN agencies, states, and other non-government stakeholders through workshops and an e-learning course, the agency said.
The programme also initiated the UN-Singapore Cyber Fellowship, which runs up to twice a year to gather national authorities and to enable them to discuss cybersecurity threats and craft national policy.
