PMI rises to 50.6 in May

May marked the ninth consecutive month of expansion.

The Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) rose to 50.6 in May, marking the ninth consecutive month of expansion.

Compared to April, expansion was slightly wider in May.

The Singapore Institute of Purchasing and Materials Management (SIPMM) attributed the increase to improvements in most indices.

Electronics PMI also improved in May, increasing by 0.2 points to 51.1, marking its fifth consecutive above-50 print.
