CLI to acquire 40% stake in SC Capital Partners for $280m

CLI will fully acquire SC Capital Partners by 2030.

CapitaLand Investment Limited (CLI) plans to acquire SC Capital Partners Group (SCCP) fully by 2030.

As part of the acquisition, CLI will initially acquire a 40% stake in SCCP for $280m, with the remaining stake to be acquired in phases over the next five years.

CLI will also invest a minimum of $524m strategic capital in SCCP’s fund strategies to support its growth.

The 40% stake acquisition will increase CLI’s funds under management (FUM) by $11b and boost its presence in Japan as 76% of the FUM from SCCP is in Japan.

CLI will fund its initial investment of the 40% stake through cash, with the deal set to close in Q1 2025. SCCP will continue to operate independently until CLI completes its acquisition of the remaining 60% stake.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
