SGX appoints Gan, Ramaswami as Co-Presidents

Singapore Exchange (SGX) announced on Wednesday a new organisation to better capitalise on emerging Asian opportunities in the global financial markets.

The change features 10 Business Units and 7 Support Units assigned to provide sharper focus on key products and customer segments, an SGX report said on Wednesday.

Under the Business Units are: Broker Services, Clearing Services, Commodities, Depository Services, Derivatives, Fixed Income, Listings, Market Data and Access, Sales and Distribution and Securities.

Under the Support Units are: Communications, Corporate & Market Strategy, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Legal and Finance, Operations, Technology.

Among the key changes are the appointments of Mr Gan Seow Ann and Mr Muthukrishnan Ramaswami as Co- Presidents, and Mr. Chew Sutat as Head of Corporate and Market Strategy.

The new structure, set to reaffirm SGX’s Asian gateway strategy and cater for the continued growth of its business, takes effect on 1 July 2010.
