Straits Trading and Alta team up to launch FIR-ST scheme

Investors will also benefit from market-adjusted dividends.

Straits Trading has partnered with Alta to launch a fund that offers investors fractional ownership in Singapore's prime private real estate through the FIR-ST scheme.

FIR-ST provides a way to access real estate investments in sought-after areas, such as District 10, without the complexities of property acquisition, landlord responsibilities, or additional buyer's stamp duty. Investors will also benefit from market-adjusted dividends, with Straits Trading managing operational costs.

Singapore’s real estate sector is projected to grow at an annual rate of 4.5%, supported by high demand in both residential and commercial segments. Recent data from PropNex Research indicated that the landed homes market remained robust in early 2024, with 681 transactions totaling $3.7 billion.

The Good Class Bungalow segment also saw heightened interest, with nine significant transactions amounting to $219 million, showing continued demand despite high interest rates and economic uncertainty.

A NOTE FROM SINGAPORE BUSINESS REVIEW

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
