F&B sales up 4.7% YoY in March 2022

Total sales value was estimated at $806m.

The food and beverage services (F&B) sales went up 4.7% in March 2022, year-on-year (YoY), which is a reversal from the 0.7% decline in February 2022, figures from the Department of Statistics Singapore showed.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, F&B sales grew 8.0% in March 2022 over the previous month. 

In March 2022, total sales value of F&B services in March 2022 was estimated at $806m. Of this, online F&B sales made up an estimated 30.4%, a similar proportion to that recorded in February 2022.

Within the industry, turnover of food caterers went up by 50.3% YoY due to higher demand for in-flight catering after the borders reopened. 

Sales of restaurants, fast food outlets as well as cafes, food courts and other eating places went up between 1.3% and 3.9% in March 2022.
