Keppel, Simba Telecom extend M1 divestment deadline to 21 May

The deal, first announced in Aug 2025, is currently under IMDA review.

Keppel Ltd. and Simba Telecom Pte. Ltd. have agreed to extend the long-stop date for the proposed divestment of M1 Limited to 21 May 2026.

The extension relates to the transaction first announced on 11 August 2025, according to a bourse filing.

The Infocomm Media Development Authority of Singapore (IMDA) is still reviewing the consolidation application submitted by M1, the purchaser, and other relevant parties on 26 September 2025.

Under the sale and purchase agreement, the transaction will lapse if conditions are not fulfilled or waived by the long-stop date.

The original deadline was set at six months from the date of the application’s submission, with provisions for extension by mutual agreement.

Keppel said M1 and Simba Telecom are continuing to make submissions to IMDA as part of the review process.

The company added that it will provide further updates as there are material developments in relation to the proposed transaction.

The people you want to reach are already in this room.

Every quarter, SBR lands on the desks of the founders, CFOs, and directors running Asia's most consequential companies. Every day, they open our newsletter and read our website. It's a room that took twenty years to build — and it's the one most of our partners are trying to get into.

The good news is that the door is open. We work with companies on thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. The shape of the right partnership depends on what you're trying to do, which is why we'd rather start with a conversation than send a rate card.

If you have something this room should know about, tell us. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how.

No rate cards until we understand the brief. It's a better use of everyone's time.
