LTA to cut school holiday ERP rates before June-end hike

Charges to rise by $1 on selected AYE and PIE gantries from 29 June.

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will reduce Electronic Road Pricing (ERP) rates at six locations from 2 to 28 June, before raising charges by $1 at two locations from 29 June.

The temporary reductions will apply across 18 time periods at six ERP locations during the school holiday period, due to expected lower traffic demand.

These include gantries along the AYE, CTE, KPE and PIE. Rates will revert to prevailing levels from 29 June.

Some rates will be reduced to zero during the period, including selected time slots on the AYE, KPE, PIE, and northbound CTE.

Separately, ERP rates will increase at two locations across six time periods.

This applies to the AYE after Jurong Town Hall towards the city from 7 am to 8 am, and at the PIE Kallang Bahru and slip road into Bendemeer gantries from 7 am to 9 am.

For the AYE after Jurong Town Hall, the 7 am to 7:30 am rate will rise from $0 to $1, whilst the 7:30 am to 8 am rate will increase from $4 to $5.

For the PIE Kallang Bahru and slip road into Bendemeer gantries, the 7 am to 7:30 am charges will rise from $0 to $1. The 7:30 am to 8:30 am rates will increase from $1 to $2, whilst the 8:30 am to 9 am fees will rise from $3 to $4.

In a statement, the LTA said traffic has built up along various stretches of expressways, and the adjustments are intended to manage congestion.

The authority is also considering reinstating ERP operations in the Orchard area, which has been unpriced since April 2020.

Speeds within Orchard have remained below optimal levels since October 2025, and LTA said it will resume ERP operations for the Orchard Cordon if congestion worsens next quarter.

Rates for other previously announced time slots and gantries remain unchanged.

If you've been wondering whether SBR could work for your company — yes, probably.

A lot of the companies we partner with started as readers. They'd been following our coverage for a while, saw their own customers and competitors in it, and eventually asked the obvious question: could we do something with you? The answer is usually yes. The shape of it depends on what you're trying to do.

The options are broader than most people assume — thought leadership articles, sponsored content, industry summits across Southeast Asia, regional awards programmes, podcasts, and media placements in print and digital. Some partners use one channel; most use a mix. We figure out the right combination by starting with your brief, not with our rate card.

So if the question has been on your mind, here's the easy way to ask it.

We'll tell you honestly whether we can help, and how. It's a better use of everyone's time.
