Asia Pac mergers & acquisitions down 7% from 2H 2010

Cross region outbound volume fell by 19%, according to Dealogic.

Asia Pacific M&A reached $290.8bn in 1H 2011, up 24% on 1H 2010 but down 7% from 2H 2010.

Cross region inbound volume reached $76.8bn in 1H 2011, up 145% on 1H 2010, driven by fourteen $1bn+ deals for a total of $47.9bn, up from just three such deals with a value of $7.6bn in 1H 2010.

Cross region outbound volume fell 19% to $45.9bn in 1H 2011 from 1H 2010, although deal count rose by 11% to 528 deals.

Asia Pacific, asides from North America, was the only region in 1H 2011 where Financial Sponsor buyouts volume of $11.6bn was higher than the Financial Sponsor Exit volume of $10.7bn.

Financial sponsor buyouts volume reached $6.9bn in 2Q 2011, the highest quarterly volume since 3Q 2007.
