Majority of employees still looking to change jobs amidst pay hike

More than six in 10 employees are expecting bonuses.

More than six in 10 (64%) of employees are still looking to transfer to other jobs in the first half of 2023, data from Morgan McKinley showed.

Top reasons for this is higher salary (43%), followed by better career growth and development opportunities (18%).

Over half (51%) of Singaporean workers are expecting to receive higher salaries in 2023, with 65% expecting a bonus.

As for employers, more than six in 10 of them are seeking to offer higher than expected salaries to retain new employees.

Seven in 10 (75%) of employers also think that salaries in their specific sector will increase this year.

Almost two thirds (65%) of businesses are eyeing to hire new permanent or contract employees in the next six months.
