Metro Holdings appoints Wong Sioe Hong as Executive Chairman of Metro Private
The group also appointed David Tang Kai Kong as CEO of the Group's retail arm.
The Board of Metro Holdings announced the appointment of Wong Sioe Hong as Executive Chairman effective 1 October 2012.
Mrs Wong, 63, was appointed Managing Director of Metro (Private) Limited in 1994. The Board of Directors having taken into consideration Mrs Wong’s proven track record of successfully managing Metro (Private) Limited, the retail arm of the Metro Holdings Ltd Group, has appointed her as Executive Chairman.
Mrs Wong will be responsible for the overall corporate strategies of Metro (Private) Limited and its subsidiaries.
Mrs Wong has been Managing Director of Metro (Private) Limited and has been responsible for all retail operations of Metro (Private) Limited and its subsidiaries since 1994.
The Board also announced the appointment of David Tang Kai Kong as CEO of Metro Private effective 10 September.
Mr Tang, 49, will be responsible for the overall management and performance of Metro (Private) Limited and its subsidiaries.
He has worked as Regional General Manager of Robinsons (S) Pte Ltd for 22 years.
